Student studies on laptop

“One of the cornerstones of our Building Alberta Plan is education and preparing our kids for their future. Last spring, I committed to building 50 schools and modernizing 70 others and that is exactly what we are doing. I’m excited that Leduc families are going to benefit from this investment.”

- Alison Redford, Premier

The new Kindergarten to Grade 9 school will help address enrolment pressures in Leduc’s growing south east communities. The new school will allow as many as 600 St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Separate Regional Division students to attend classes closer to where they live

“Our priority is to continue to provide flexible, well-designed learning facilities in communities where Alberta families live. In just a few short years, Leduc will be home to a new, state-of-the-art school, designed to meet and adapt to changing educational and community needs.”

- George Rogers, MLA for Leduc-Beaumont

With bright, open spaces and through the use of natural light and advanced ventilation systems that enhance air quality and circulation, this new school will benefit students and teachers by providing healthy learning and working environments.

In addition to conventional classrooms, this new facility will also include space for project-based, collaborative learning.

Premier Redford committed to build 50 new schools and modernize 70 others. All 70 modernization projects are now underway. With this announcement, 46 new school projects are underway and the remaining four new schools will be announced this month.

Information about the school projects currently underway and additional details on the Leduc project can be found online as they become available.
