The new school will be built in west Airdrie to help address enrolment pressures. The school will serve as many as 600 Rocky View School Division Kindergarten to Grade 4 students.

This project is one of six new Alberta schools announced this December. Together, these schools will provide 4,200 new student spaces.

“With our recent investment in six new and two replacement schools, combined with the school projects we unveiled earlier in the year, our commitment to Alberta families is clear. We are planning for the future and investing in Alberta’s growing communities.”

- Alison Redford, Premier

“One of the cornerstones of our Building Alberta Plan is education and preparing our kids for their future. Under the leadership of Premier Redford, we are delivering on the commitment for 50 new schools and modernizing 70 schools.”

- Jeff Johnson, Minister of Education

New schools incorporate advanced systems and features such as large windows that provide natural lighting and ventilation systems that improve air quality and circulation, creating a healthy learning and working environment for students and teachers and others who use the schools.

“A big part of making sure our students and communities continue to have access to the educational programming and top-notch facilities they deserve is to ensure new schools are being built to meet the needs of our growing communities.”

- Ric McIver, Minister of Infrastructure

Information about other school projects currently underway and additional details on the Airdrie project, as it becomes available, can be found online.

Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, living within our means, and opening new markets for Alberta's resources to ensure we're able to fund the services Albertans told us matter most to them. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
