Albertans are encouraged to nominate employers who have gone the extra mile to develop talents and skills in a supportive work environment.

2014 Award categories

The Government of Alberta sponsors five of the 11 awards honouring employers in the following award categories:

Premier’s Award of Distinction recognizing outstanding involvement, achievement, and leadership in Alberta’s business community (sponsored by Human Services);
Employer of Persons with Disabilities Award of Distinction recognizing an employer instrumental in hiring, training and developing employees with disabilities (sponsored by Human Services);
Employer of Youth Award of Distinction recognizing an organization that has done well in hiring youth and providing ongoing career opportunities (sponsored by Human Services);
Aboriginal Woman Entrepreneur Award of Distinction recognizing outstanding leadership and innovation (sponsored by Aboriginal Relations); and
Diversity Leadership Award of Distinction recognizing organizations that embrace diversity and encourage respect while working toward eliminating discrimination (sponsored by Alberta Human Rights Commission).
