Judge Golden’s appointment is for a term of five years. He will replace Judge Eldon Simpson who has been appointed to the Court of Queen’s Bench.

Judge Golden was appointed to the Provincial Court in 2007. He graduated law school from the University of Alberta in 1990. Prior to his judicial appointment, he gained extensive experience working in family, criminal, and civil law. He also spent four and a half years as a Crown prosecutor in Grande Prairie before his appointment. In addition to Judge Golden’s legal work, he has been very involved with his community, is an active Rotarian and is committed to extensive continuing education.

“I'm pleased to announce the appointment of Judge Golden as Assistant Chief Judge for the Provincial Court’s Northern Region. I’m confident the northern region will benefit from his dedication and experience.”
