This project includes routine maintenance work and widening of the bridge deck. When completed, the widened deck will improve access for industrial traffic, ensure the long-term structural integrity of the bridge, and protect Alberta’s investment in our infrastructure.
There is a high volume of heavy-load traffic on this section of the highway. All necessary measures are being taken to keep traffic delays to a minimum and ensure a safe work zone for motorists and construction crews.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane across the bridge with alternating traffic controlled by signal lights. Approaching drivers will see additional advanced warning beacons and information signs.
Motorists are asked to drive courteously in the construction zone and obey all posted speed limits, signs and flag people. Fines for speeding are doubled when workers are present.
