This release was issued under a previous government.

Work will take place during daytime hours. To ensure a safe construction zone for both workers and motorists, traffic will be reduced to one lane when work crews are onsite and will be controlled with traffic signals. Drivers can also expect reduced speed limits over the bridge.

Generally, motorists can expect minor delays as the traffic signals will advance traffic at approximatley three minute intervals. During some critical phases of the work there could be delays of up to 20 minutes to accommodate large equipment and provide necessary access to the substructure.

The bridge will be opened to two lanes at night when crews are not working and speed limits will be reduced to ensure safe travel in the construction zone.

Motorists should use caution in the area and obey all signs and flag people. Fines for speeding are doubled through construction zones when workers are present.
