This release was issued under a previous government.

The project includes geotechnical improvements to the future interchange and involves hauling material across the highway. The site is located near the new Parsons Creek Development, approximately 3.5km north of the Confederation Way interchange on Highway 63.

To accommodate the haul crossing, the contractor will install steel plates on the highway at the crossing location. To ensure a safe work zone for construction crews and motorists, traffic will be controlled using traffic signals on north and southbound lanes of Highway 63.

The work zone will be clearly identified and lit during this operation, and hauling will occur around the clock. Traffic will be allowed to flow freely during peak travel times (5 - 8 a.m. and 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.) Work is expected to be complete by Nov. 15, weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to drive courteously in the construction zone and obey all posted speed limits, signs and flag people. Fines for speeding are doubled when workers are present.
