The ferry carries Highway 838 over the Red Deer River, located 22 kilometres west of Drumheller. The ferry operates from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. until May 18. From May 19 to the September long weekend the ferry operates from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the ferry operates from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from the day after the September long weekend to Oct. 31.
