This release was issued under a previous government.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Sunday, October 23 - the 87th Avenue ramp off Anthony Henday Drive northbound will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anthony Henday Drive northbound will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Alternate route is 100th Avenue.
  • Monday, October 24 - the 87th Avenue ramp onto Anthony Henday Drive southbound will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anthony Henday Drive northbound will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists will detour via Webber Greens Drive West, to Suder Greens Drive Northwest, to Lewis Estates Boulevard South, and will head east on Whitemud Drive to access Anthony Henday Drive southbound. Signage will direct motorists through the alternate route.
  • Saturday, October 22 through Monday, October 24 - additional lane closures will occur on 87th Avenue and Anthony Henday Drive but motorists will still be able to move through these areas.
Motorists should use caution in construction areas and obey all signs, message boards and flag people. Motorists are reminded that fines for speeding are doubled through construction zones when workers are present.

Alberta Transportation is working closely with the City of Edmonton to minimize traffic disruptions to motorists for interchange construction on Anthony Henday Drive at Stony Plain Road, Lessard Road, Callingwood Road and Cameron Heights Drive.
