Purpose: The purpose of this consultation is to invite public input regarding Alberta’s child intervention system.

A review of the child intervention system was announced this past summer by Children and Youth Services Minister Janis Tarchuk. The review will identify strengths in our system and examine how the system may be improved to support at-risk, children, youth and families.

The review is being conducted by an external panel of specialists in the fields of child intervention, health, mental health, justice and services to Aboriginal people. 

The panel invites all Albertans to respond to a survey and questions that are outlined in the discussion guide.  What the panel hears from Albertans will be considered as its members develop a report and recommendations for consideration by the Minister.
How to participate:
Please read about the history and current status of child intervention in Alberta in the discussion guide and share your ideas by responding to the survey and/or providing a written submission by November 30, 2009.
