Purpose: Albertans are invited to share their feedback on the proposed conceptual design for facility development at Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park.

How to participate:

The draft conceptual design addresses facility upgrades and expansion in the park in light of Alberta's growing population and increasing recreational demands. The draft conceptual design was developed to fulfill the following objectives:

  • Address facility expansion and upgrades in the main facility areas of the park;
  • Create a strong park identity; and
  • Create stronger linkages between facility areas.

These objectives are intended to support the role of this park as a provincial destination and signature park in Alberta. An open house has been scheduled to provide information on the proposed conceptual design.

Date: March 24, 2009

Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Location Northern lakes College
1201 Main Street
Slave Lake, Alberta

Those unable to attend the open house can view the proposed concept plan and provide feedback on this website. Comments will also be accepted by mail.

Input received by April 30, 2009 will help determine future facility development at Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park.

The Alberta Parks Division will review all of the information gathered from public feedback to make sure the final design concept meets the needs of park visitors and Albertans and also achieves the department goals for site management efficiency, cost effectiveness and public safety. A final decision on facility development will be made later this year once all comments have been considered.
