HONOURABLE MR. HORNER 553/2009 PROCLAMATION - Proclaiming the Alberta Research and Innovation Act in force on January 1, 2010. 554/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 4) - Effective January 1, 2010, appoints Riikka Heikinheimo, Chris Henshall, Peter Riddles and Howard Tennant, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2011; Marvin Fritzler as Chair, Helena Acheson, Florence Gauzy Krieger and Peter Nicholson, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2012; Oryssia Lennie as Vice chair, Alan Bernstein and Laura Kilcrease, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2013, as members of the Alberta Research and Innovation Authority. 555/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 7); ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION REGULATION (section 3) - Effective January 1, 2010, appoints Sara Boettiger, Ray Price as Vice chair and Jacqueline Shan, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2011; Bruce German, Doug Mackenzie and John (Jack) Saddler, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2012; Art Froehlich as Chair and Brian Hesje, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2013, to the board of directors of Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions. 556/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 7); ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION REGULATION (section 3) - Effective January 1, 2010, appoints Eric Newell as Chair, Doug Beever and Aaron Falkenberg, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2011; Paul Galachiuk, David Lynch, Robert Mansell and Kim Sturgess, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2012; Kathleen Sendall as Vice chair, Paul Clark, Charlie Fischer and David Lewin, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2013, to the board of directors of Alberta Innovates Energy and Environment Solutions. 557/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 7); ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION REGULATION (section 3) - Effective January 1, 2010, appoints David Dolphin for a term to expire on December 31, 2011; Lyle Best, Nancy Mannix, Aubrey Tingle, and Ralph Young, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2012; Raymond Rajotte as Vice chair and Robert (Rob) Seidel as Chair, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2013, to the board of directors of Alberta Innovates Health Solutions. 558/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 7); ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION REGULATION (section 3) - Effective January 1, 2010, appoints Tom Corr, Greg Luoma, Amit Monga, Jozef Straus and Doug Gilpin, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2011; Kenneth (Ken) McKinnon, Ron Triffo as Chair, Sheila Weatherill and Alan Winter, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2012; Stephen Lougheed as Vice chair and Gerard (Gerry) Protti, each for a term to expire on December 31, 2013, to the board of directors of Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures. 559/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 6) - Effective January 1, 2010, designates the following members of the Executive Council as having responsibilities for matters related to research and innovation: Minister of Advanced Education and Technology, Minister of Energy, Minister of Finance and Enterprise, Minister of Health and Wellness, Minister of Environment, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Minister of Sustainable Resource Development. 560/2009 ALBERTA RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ACT (section 14) - The following entities are being dissolved as of January 1, 2010 to prepare for the implementation of the new research and innovation framework established under the Alberta Research and Innovation Act: the Alberta Agricultural Research Institute, the Alberta Energy Research Institute, the Alberta Forestry Research Institute, the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Science and Engineering Research, the Alberta Information and Communications Technology Institute, the Alberta Life Sciences Institute, the Alberta Research Council Inc., the Alberta Science and Research Authority, and iCORE Inc.
