HONOURABLE MR. BLACKETT 405/2009 ALBERTA FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS ACT (section 7) - Appoints Jeffrey Welling and Dr. Mike Bregazzi as members of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, each for an additional term to expire on June 30, 2011; and appoints Colin Jackson as a member for a term to expire on June 30, 2011. HONOURABLE MR. DANYLUK 406/2009 MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT (sections 126 and 138) - Orders the separation of certain land from The County of Grande Prairie No. 1 and the annexation of that land, approximately 33 hectares (82 acres), to the City of Grande Prairie. 407/2009 MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT (sections 133, 134 and 137) - Dissolves the Village of Kinuso and directs that the former area of the Village be designated a hamlet and become part of the Municipal District of Big Lakes, effective September 1, 2009. 408/2009 MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT (section 486) - Effective August 1, 2009, appoints A. H. (Alf) Savage, Jack M. Schmidt, Heesung Kim, Charles (Chuck) Bethune and Donald Marchand as members of the Municipal Government Board, each for a term to expire on July 31, 2010. HONOURABLE MS EVANS 409/2009 ALBERTA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT CORPORATION ACT (section 4); INTERPRETATION ACT (section 20) - Appoints Cathy Williams as a member of the board of directors of Alberta Investment Management Corporation for a term to expire on December 31, 2011. 410/2009 INSURANCE ACT (section 498); INSURANCE COUNCILS REGULATION (AR 126/2001) (sections 2 and 6) - Reappoints Melvin (Mel) Niebrugge as a member and chair of the Alberta Insurance Council for a term to expire on August 22, 2012. 411/2009 TEACHERS’ PENSION PLANS ACT (section 14) - Makes the Teachers’ and Private School Teachers’ Pension Plans (Pre-1992 Unfunded Liability, 2009) Amendment Regulation. HONOURABLE MR. GOUDREAU 412/2009 WORKERS’ COMPENSATION ACT (section 5) - Reappoints Timothy Brower and Richard Mirasty as members of the board of directors of The Workers Compensation Board, each for a term to expire on June 30, 2012; appoints Donald J. Oborowsky as a member for an additional term to expire on June 30, 2011; and appoints Bob Normand as a member for a term to expire on June 30, 2012. HONOURABLE MR. HAYDEN 413/2009 BUILDERS’ LIEN ACT (section 70) - Makes the Builders’ Lien Forms Amendment Regulation to extend the expiry date to August 31, 2012. HONOURABLE MR. HORNER 414/2009 POST-SECONDARY LEARNING ACT (sections 16 and 56) - Reappoints Robert J. Turner as chair of the board of The Governors of The University of Lethbridge for a term to expire on September 26, 2012; and effective July 26, 2009, appoints Blaine A. Kunz as a member for a term to expire on July 25, 2012. 415/2009 POST-SECONDARY LEARNING ACT (sections 44 and 56) - Appoints Cynthia P. Moore and Roxanne McCaig as members of The Board of Governors of Alberta College of Art and Design, each for a term to expire on July 20, 2012; and effective August 30, 2009, appoints Sue Anne Valentine and Darren Delichte as members, each for a term to expire on August 29, 2012. 416/2009 POST-SECONDARY LEARNING ACT (sections 44 and 56) - Reappoints Oryssia Lennie and Dr. D. William Johnston as members of The Board of Governors of Grant MacEwan College, each for a term to expire on August 22, 2012. 417/2009 POST-SECONDARY LEARNING ACT (sections 44 and 56) - Appoints Brenda Bourque-Stratichuk as a member of The Board of Governors of Portage College for a term to expire on July 20, 2012. HONOURABLE MRS. JABLONSKI 418/2009 PROCLAMATION - Proclaiming the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act in force on September 30, 2009. 419/2009 ADULT GUARDIANSHIP AND TRUSTEESHIP ACT (section 117); PUBLIC TRUSTEE ACT (section 47) - Makes the Transitional (Applications made in conformity with the Dependent Adults Act; Certificates of Incapacity) Regulation. This Regulation provides for a transition from the former Dependent Adults Act to the new Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act. 420/2009 ADULT GUARDIANSHIP AND TRUSTEESHIP ACT (section 116) - Makes the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Regulation. This Regulation assists in implementing the new Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act. It defines terms, addresses the capacity assessment process, the court application processes, the roles of new working units of the Office of the Public Guardian and the role of the new working unit of the Office of the Public Trustee. HONOURABLE MR. KNIGHT 421/2009 MINES AND MINERALS ACT (section 36) - Makes the Oil Sands Royalty Regulation, 2009 Amendment Regulation. HONOURABLE DR. MORTON 422/2009 FOREST AND PRAIRIE PROTECTION ACT (section 8) - Approves the Minister of Sustainable Resource Development reimbursing Cardston County for costs and expenses in the amount of $18 922 incurred in controlling and extinguishing a wildfire on unoccupied public land on July 14, 2007. 423/2009 PUBLIC LANDS ACT (section 7) - Transfers the administration of certain public lands from the Minister of Sustainable Resource Development to the Alberta Social Housing Corporation. HONOURABLE MS REDFORD 424/2009 COURT OF APPEAL ACT (section 16) - Makes the Alberta Rules of Court Amendment Regulation. 425/2009 ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES COMMISSION ACT (sections 2 and 4) - Appoints the Honourable Judge Ernest J. M. Walter as chair of the Electoral Boundaries Commission. 426/2009 JUSTICE OF THE PEACE ACT (section 4) - Appoints Leslie Glynne Morris and Joann Louise Schwager as justices of the peace designated as part-time sitting justices of the peace; and effective August 1, 2009, appoints Patrick Brian Higgerty, Ronald David Price and Susan Jill Taylor as justices of the peace designated as part-time sitting justices of the peace, each for a term of 10 years. 427/2009 PROCLAMATION - Proclaiming the Jury Amendment Act, 2008 in force on October 1, 2009. 428/2009 PROVINCIAL COURT ACT (section 9.1) - Appoints James Allison Hunter as a judge of The Provincial Court of Alberta, effective August 24, 2009. 429/2009 PROVINCIAL COURT ACT (section 9.1) - Appoints Kathleen Dawn Williams as a judge of The Provincial Court of Alberta, effective September 14, 2009. HONOURABLE MR. RENNER 430/2009 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT ACT (sections 86, 166 and 239) - Makes the Pesticide Sales, Handling, Use and Application Amendment Regulation. This Regulation bans the sale and use of herbicide/fertilizer combination products, effective January 1, 2010. 431/2009 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT ACT (section 90); INTERPRETATION ACT (section 20) - Effective July 27, 2009, appoints Delmar Perras as a member and chair of the Environmental Appeals Board for a term to expire on July 26, 2012. HONOURABLE MR. STELMACH 432/2009 FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION ACT (section 4) - Rescinds the appointment of Guy Boutilier, MLA, as a member of the Treasury Board. HONOURABLE MS TARCHUK 433/2009 PROCLAMATION - Proclaiming all remaining sections of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Amendment Act, 2008 in force on October 1, 2009.
