Strathcona County working group develops action plan to present to community
Participants finalize agenda for public meeting on June 29
Edmonton... The working group established to address community safety concerns in Strathcona County, following a case of two youth in government care being charged in connection with a double homicide, developed an action plan during its June 25 meeting to present to the general public on June 29.
Children and Youth Services, Edmonton and Area Child and Family Services, Bosco Homes, Strathcona County, Strathcona County RCMP, and Strathcona Residents’ Association representatives agreed on goals with measurable targets and timelines during their most recent meeting, intended to enhance the safety of both residents of the community and youth living at Bosco Homes.
The six organizations on the working group also decided to present the action plan to the public during a community meeting scheduled to be held at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex on June 29 from 7 - 8:15 p.m.
The working group concluded its meeting by finalizing the agenda and presenters for the community meeting. A representative from each of the six groups will briefly speak to meeting attendees on topics including steps that have been taken to date and future plans to address community safety concerns. The public will then have the opportunity to ask questions and offer input into possible solutions.
