Recognize an Alberta Great Kid!
Edmonton... This is your opportunity to recognize Alberta’s children and youth for their tremendous achievements and contributions to others at home, at school and in their communities. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 Great Kids Award.
“Alberta is home to thousands of inspiring young leaders — children and youth with incredible talent and determination who make a positive and lasting difference for others every day,” said Janis Tarchuk, Minister of Children and Youth Services. “I encourage Albertans to nominate one of these Great Kids.”
Great Kids are a diverse group of Albertans between the ages of five and 18 who demonstrate determination, generosity, compassion, courage and strong spirit. This is the 10th year the Government of Alberta will honour outstanding children and youth through the Great Kids Award.
Great Kids will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton in Fall 2009. Recipients will receive a prize package, which includes a computer from IBM, accommodation at the Fantasyland Hotel and an attraction pass to West Edmonton Mall.
