High School Video Contest winners 2016

Labour Minister Christina Gray with Seth Dunham, Jilliane Kell and Christian Montiel

The High School Video Contest is hosted each year by Alberta Labour and awards are handed out to the top three student filmmakers.

Awards ceremony kicks off a week of workplace safety

This year’s awards ceremony was held on April 27, in the run-up to North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week which runs from May 1-7. The goal of the week is to highlight the importance of preventing workplace incidents, illnesses and injuries.

Last week also marked National Day of Mourning, which recognized workers injured or killed on the job in the last year.

“Young workers are at higher risk of being injured at work than other age groups. It is my pleasure to recognize these outstanding Alberta students for producing such creative videos to relay important information to their peers.”
