Think Globally Art Contest

In an increasingly global world, being more culturally aware and informed helps students gain an understanding of the differences and connections between people, no matter where they live. International Education Week provides Alberta’s students the chance to recognize and promote the diversity and cultural origins of their own communities with others.

Starting today until January 15, 2016, students can submit their artwork for the Think Globally Art Contest that captures and showcases the various aspects of Alberta’s relationship with Japan. Winning submissions will be announced May 2016 and will be displayed at the Alberta Legislature.

“Providing our students with opportunities that expand their view of the world gives them the skills they need to make a positive impact on our society and achieve success today and in years to come.”

David Eggen, Minister of Education

This year also marks the 35th anniversary of Alberta’s sister relationship with the prefecture of Hokkaido, Japan. International Education Week is celebrated by over 100 countries around the world.
