Through Budget 2014, the Alberta government is investing in tourism to grow the industry from $7.8 billion to $10.3 billion by 2020. Today 139,000 jobs and 19,000 businesses throughout Alberta are supported by tourism.

Travel Alberta is a key partner in the development and implementation of Alberta’s Tourism Framework, which will help build and diversify Alberta’s economy. The Framework aligns Alberta’s efforts—across government and industry—to market and develop authentic tourism experiences.

Travel Alberta’s strategy to help grow tourism revenues is to direct consumer-driven brand marketing at youthfully spirited travellers in high-potential markets. The marketing organization promotes breathtaking experiences that differentiate Alberta and drive visitation throughout the province.
