Province seeks input on proposed expansion of Nordegg area park

Edmonton...
Albertans are invited to provide feedback on a proposal to add approximately 164 hectares of public land to Fish Lake Provincial Recreation Area, near Nordegg.

The proposed expansion will help meet increased recreational demand, and improve public safety and site management efficiency. The expansion would enable nearby trails, wetlands, and shorelines to be included within park boundaries. This expanded area would be considered for future facility development.

Albertans are invited to review the proposal and comment online at www.albertaparks.ca/consult.  Comments will also be accepted by mail at:

Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation
Fish Lake PRA Boundary Proposal
2nd floor, Oxbridge Place
9820 - 106 Street
Edmonton, Alberta T5K 2J6

Feedback must be submitted by October 13. A decision regarding the proposal will be made after the 60-day public consultation period is over and all comments have been considered.

Fish Lake Provincial Recreation Area is a popular destination for camping and fishing and is located five kilometres east of Nordegg. Established in 1996, the provincial campsite has 92 campsites that are available on a first come-first served basis.
