The Alberta government’s commitment to accessible, rider-friendly public transit includes almost $13 million for renewal and expansion of the fixed route and paratransit bus fleets to make public transit more comfortable, safer and accessible throughout the City of Lethbridge.

Lethbridge projects

  • Replace fixed route and paratransit buses, purchase five additional paratransit buses: $12.3 million
  • Install surveillance systems on fixed route and paratransit   buses: $390,000

Lethbridge Transit estimates that replacement of pre-2012 buses with new clean diesel buses will reduce fuel consumption, resulting in a net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 285 tonnes by 2020.
