The Augustana Miquelon Lake Research Station is housed within the provincial park and will serve as an important resource to study human and wildlife impacts on the natural environment.
“Our parks are amazing living laboratories. They offer researchers unique opportunities to study Alberta’s wildlife, ecology, geology and history. The work done at this research station will help achieve our goals of greater environmental protection and sustainability.”
Government contributed $75,000 to the facility and a nominal annual lease fee of $1. A significant outcome of the research station will be the integration of natural science and social research to promote long-term sustainability of the landscape, including Alberta’s provincial parks.

- Approximately one hour southeast of Edmonton
- 1.6 km from the Miquelon Lake Provincial Park entrance to the overflow parking lot. Research station is about a 300-metre walk from the parking lot.
