The Sherwood Drive interchange will enhance safety and capacity on the road in preparation for the increased traffic flows expected once the full Edmonton ring road is complete in fall of 2016.

The Broadmoor Boulevard Bridge at Yellowhead Trail will be demolished to allow for the construction of three new wider bridges to accommodate improvements along Yellowhead Trail in conjunction with the Anthony Henday project.

All traffic currently using the Broadmoor Boulevard Bridge will be detoured to the new Sherwood Drive and Yellowhead Trail interchange, which will provide all directional access to Yellowhead Trail and access to the existing cross streets north and south of Yellowhead Trail. The closure of Broadmoor Boulevard overpass is linked to the opening of the new Sherwood Drive interchange to allow traffic to detour onto Sherwood Drive.

June 5, 11 p.m. to June 7, 10 a.m.

Eastbound Yellowhead Trail will be closed under the Broadmoor Boulevard Bridge. Also at this time the directional ramp from northbound Anthony Henday Drive to eastbound Yellowhead Trail will be closed. This change is required to demolish the existing bridge over the Yellowhead Trail at Broadmoor Boulevard.

During the closure, eastbound traffic will be detoured via the eastbound Yellowhead Trail to southbound Anthony Henday Drive ramp to access Baseline Road then Sherwood Drive. Detour signage will be in place to direct commuters.

June 6, midnight to June 7, 10 a.m.

Westbound Yellowhead Trail will also be closed under the Broadmoor Boulevard Bridge.

During the closure, westbound traffic will be detoured via the new Sherwood Drive Interchange to Baseline Road and Anthony Henday Drive. Detour signage will be in place to direct commuters.
