Incident details

  • Larry Bradley erected structures and installed property, including a cabin and outhouse, on public land in the County of Saddle Hills without required authorization and in contravention of the Public Lands Act.
  • Bradley claimed ownership of the structures and property on the land and initially agreed to remove them from the land by December 2013.
  • Bradley requested and received two extensions for removal, but failed to remove them prior to March 2014.

Terms of the Enforcement Order

Larry Bradley must:

  • immediately cease utilizing the unauthorized structures and property for any purpose other than facilitating their removal from Crown lands;
  • remove, no later than February 28, 2015, all of the unauthorized structures and property;
  • notify the Regional Compliance Manager within 15 days of completion of the work required.

Enforcement orders ensure that immediate action is taken to remedy a situation where there is an unauthorized use of public lands. They are one of many tools – including education and prevention – used by the Alberta government to ensure all Albertans can continue to enjoy a safe and healthy environment.
