Alberta is celebrating International Education Week from November 17 to 21. As part of the celebration, students are invited to submit a photo that displays the culture, diversity, and richness of their communities. The contest is open until January 15 and details are available online.

“Students are growing up in an increasingly global society, and understanding their place in an interconnected world is at the heart of international education. I encourage young Albertans to capture what connects them and their community to the world.”

Gordon Dirks, Minister of Education

Students of the top selected photographs will receive a prize package and have their entry displayed at the Alberta Legislature.

International Education Week is celebrated by more than 100 countries worldwide. The week helps raise awareness of the importance of supporting students to become globally engaged citizens.
