Sixteen other Alberta municipalities were also recognized in the Innovation, Partnerships, Safe Communities, and Small Communities categories by Municipal Affairs.

Since beginning its online census project in 2005, Airdrie has continued to enhance the on-line processes and has shared them with 32 other Alberta municipalities resulting in fewer enumerators being hired; reduced administration time in dealing with information gathered and data entry; and a significant saving in paper costs.
