“It was my pleasure to welcome Northwest Territories Premier Bob McLeod to Alberta. The meeting was a valuable opportunity to identify how we can continue to work closely with our friends in the Northwest Territories.
“Alberta and the Northwest Territories have always had a special relationship; going back to the dawn of the 20th century when Alberta was a district of the Northwest Territories. Today, we are economic hubs to one another and have many shared interests.
“Premier McLeod and I looked at the long history of collaboration between Alberta and the Northwest Territories and set a path forward to strengthen our economic and cultural links.
"I look forward to continuing to work with the Northwest Territories, on areas such as Aboriginal peoples, responsible resource development and market access.”
