Canadian Pacific Rail will conduct repairs to a rail crossing in Leduc County located east of the QE II highway at the Airport Road interchange (Edmonton International Airport).

Approximately 18,000 vehicles per day travel this road and some may detour onto the highway, potentially causing congestion on this stretch of Alberta’s busiest highway.

September 8 - 9

The rail crossing east of the Sparrow Drive intersection will be closed Monday, September 8 at 4 p.m. and re-open Wednesday at midnight. Due to the detour and additional traffic, motorists in the area may encounter delays.

Detour

Traffic will have to detour north on Sparrow Drive and proceed to Highway 19/625, then take 5 Street in Nisku to return to Airport Road or travel south on Sparrow Drive to 65 avenue in Leduc, then head north on 42 Street.
