This release was issued under a previous government.

Crews will remove the current culvert installed in the 1960s and replace it with a wider steel culvert. This is a proactive measure to prevent future bridge failure on the heavily travelled Capital Region highway.

This project will cost about $1.5 million and should be completed by October 15, weather permitting.

August 11 to October 15

Speed will be reduced to 50km/h throughout the construction zone and traffic reduced to two lanes from the current four lanes. There will be no width or height restrictions. Flag persons may be used occasionally to direct traffic. Motorists should expect minor delays.

Additional Information

  • Fines for speeding double in construction zones.
  • Motorists are reminded to obey all flag persons, signs and signals and watch for construction equipment.
