Workers will improve the intersections at the junction of Highway 40 and Weyerhauser Road, and Highway 40 and Canfor Road, as well as build a three km long passing lane for northbound traffic, and a new rest area for southbound traffic. These upgrades to the highway will increase motorist safety on Highway 40 at an approximate cost of $16 million and should be completed by October 15, weather permitting.

July 21 to October 15

Speed will be reduced to from 100 km/h to 80 km/h in the construction zone, and 50 km/h when workers are present. Traffic will be guided by a pilot vehicle and flag persons depending on the location. Depending on traffic, travellers should expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

Additional information

  • Motorists are reminded to obey all flag persons, signs and signals and watch for construction equipment.
