Dr. James Makokis is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Medical School. He moved back home to the First Nation, located west of St. Paul, to open a community health clinic that combines Cree teachings and traditional and western medicine. He is also a sought-after public speaker who has travelled across Canada to encourage healthy lifestyles amongst indigenous youth.
Leading the Way: Aboriginal People Today tells the story of individuals from across the province who are successful in their fields and are empowered by their cultural values.
