This release was issued under a previous government.

The Elbow River bridge west of Bragg Creek will be reduced to a single lane as crews pour a concrete bridge deck, replacing the wooden surface put in place in mid-December.

Unable to pour concrete in cold temperatures, crews employed an innovative temporary solution by installing a temporary wooden bridge deck to provide motorists with two-lane access through the winter months. With spring’s warmer temperatures arriving, crews are now able to pour the deck and complete flood repairs on the permanent structure.
